Process Safety - Asset Integrity Management

Asset managers have identified and documented hazards with high Process Safety Risks for existing and new assets; manage this risks to As Low As Reasonably Practicable; and review these risks. Asset Managers establish technical integrity in design and construction.

Asset Managers establish and maintain 

  • procedures to operate safety critical equipment within its operational limits; to inspect the technical integrity of this equipment; and to timely maintain it

  • a Permit to Work system that identify types of work that need to be controlled through a permit to work; its preparation, issuance, closure and permit retention as defined by legislative requirements

  • documented Management of Change procedures to cover permanent changes, temporary changes and emergency changes, and

  • an incident management system to manage emergency response and a program for testing these plans.
