Safety Culture and Leadership

Leaders create and sustain a culture that drives commitment from the workforce of ‘no harm
to people’ and ‘to protect the environment’.

Leaders are mindful of (safety) risks; demonstrate visible and felt leadership through
measurable actions; motivate, coach and develop their personnel in effective management of safety risks; and ultimately hold them accountable.

Line managers provide information, instruction, training and supervision so that people are competent to carry our their work safely in their area of responsibility.

Leaders set and meet safety expectations as part of the value chain.

Leaders effectively engage with neighbours and impacted communities in order to manage the impact arising from the business activities.
